Cookies, Cookies, and More Cookies!

After the success of the football cookies, I decided to try my hand at Christmas Cookies. My mom wanted to bring some to a Christmas Party on Sunday. I wanted to give some to my co-workers. And my sister wanted some for Maddie's teachers.

I absolutely did not wait until Saturday afternoon to start making the dough and then realize that my mom needed them for first thing Sunday morning. No, I'm too organized to make such a mistake. So it goes without saying that I did not stay up until 2:00 in the morning making them. Ok, maybe that did happen. But I was so excited about my project, that I had all of the energy that I needed to get it all done. Until I ran out of energy, and had to leave a few left undecorated, which I will work on tonight.

Anyway.

I baked 12 dozen cookies out of 2 batches of No Spread dough. I made four shapes: Candy Canes, Christmas Trees, Stockings, and Stars. I did not like the way the stars came out, so I quit decorating those. I think I will just let Chris eat them, because today, I bought more cookie cutters and am dying to try out some new shapes. So I will probably complete the teacher cookies on some new, fresh cookies :)

Am I rambling?

Ok, so what you really want is to see the final products!

A sampling...

This is the platter I made for my mom to take to her party:

You may notice lots of blue and green-- her party was a Tulane Booster Club party, so I wanted to go with the theme :) I thought the green & blue candy canes were sooo cute!

Then I packed the rest up into little bags with bows and tags for my co-workers. They were a big hit.

So stay tuned for Christmas Cookies Part 2. New shapes. New Colors. Good times!
