Holiday House Tour

So the big question is: Was my weekend as productive as I had hoped. And the survey says: YES!

So what did I get done? Well, let me give you a virtual tour of my Christmas decor :) Then you can be proud of my accomplishments.

Let's start in the dining room, where you will find a beautiful tablescape. I set each place setting for my imaginary dinner party. I got those gold chargers at Target (said like Tar-jay so it sounds fancy). I also set out my china, crystal, and silver-- see! that stuff really is useful! And then I filled the bowls with gold ornaments.

I decorated the center of the table with candles, jars filled with ornaments and other gold holidays treats, and of course, my garland! (Thanks Elizabeth for making my garland dreams come true!). I also hung gold glittery ornaments from the chandelier.

Can you tell my colors are gold and green? For the front room, at least...

The den is just the opposite. I like to call his "Holiday Casual." Actually, I don't know what that means, but that was the attire for Chris' work Christmas party, and I think it fits with the look I was going for in the den. Our den is black, white, and brown. So I thought I'd use red and silver in this room. Plus, since I used gold and green in the other room, I needed somewhere for my red & silver decorations :)

And Chris requested a small tree for the den, so I went with my theme and purchased a small tree, then adorned it with red ornaments and silver beaded garland. And I put a few fake presents under it to make it look cute :)

A few years ago, my parents handed down their old Tulane stockings to us. I spruced them up with some much needed new holly and hung them from the staircase with care. Pottery Barn has a picture of stockings hung from the staircase, and I've been obsessed with this idea since we don't have a fireplace.

I wrapped some white holly garland around the banister. So cute! Roll Wave!

We didn't get the tree this weekend, because the weather has been so bad, but I did wrap the presents that I already have.

I also managed to get the outside decorated. It's hard to snap pictures of the lights... turns out my flash isn't quite strong enough to illuminate the entire house. It was also quite foggy last night when I took the pictures. But here goes...

Wreaths on the windows (all of the windows in the front of the house); lights on the big bushes and the columns. Poinsettias everywhere.

Garland on the door, along with my splurge from last year-- a Christmas ornament wreath from Pier 1.

So what do you think? I was a busy bee this weekend! And I'm not even done sharing all of my adventures... I still have two projects that deserve separate posts! SO stay tuned!
